Faith.

This little word has shaped the world. Throughout human history, people in every culture have had some form of faith—a profound commitment to something or someone that is divine and transcends their own existence. Various religious and spiritual belief systems are referred to as varying “faiths.”

Within faiths, there are heroes of that faith who inspire other followers of that faith by their incredible faith. People with extraordinary faith are celebrated for trusting even when there was no hope and suffering for their faith as martyrs, and their faith stories are retold as heroic and legendary inspiration for others to follow.

In Christianity, Hebrews 11 is widely regarded as the most significant chapter in the Bible on faith. While many teach that the men and women mentioned in this chapter are heroes, the truth is that their extraordinary faith also came with extraordinary failure. Ultimately, by examining their stories in depth, we learn that their remarkable faith is a result of their faithful God.
