In 1 John 3:11–18, John shows us that every relationship is eventually shaped by one of three responses: hatred, indifference, or Christlike love. Cain shows us what hatred does, need exposes what indifference ignores, and Jesus shows us what real love looks like. Because Jesus laid down His life for us, we are called to reject hatred, resist indifference, and love one another in deed and truth.
